We are pleased to introduce the new Demosphere registration platform to our members, and hope that it offers a more user-friendly online registration experience. All players must be registered before they will be permitted to attend any assessments or training sessions. Please proceed to Online Registration to complete your registration. If you can’t register online, please print off a Paper Copy of the registration form and bring it to the HDSC office to make payment. Review the Skill Centre April Training Schedule and note when your sessions are scheduled.
This summer, players in the U08, U09 and U10 age groups will be organized on teams by random selection. The random selection will be determined by Soccer Nova Scotia. For example, they may tell us to place players on teams according to their age, or according to the "Good, Better, Best" model. Their rationale for this is to allow all players the opportunity to play with everyone. Knowing children develop at different rates, they believe this will allow players to improve their skills, have more fun playing, and continue playing throughout their youth.
The U11 and U12 programs will operate on the "Good, Better, Best" model. Depending on the numbers in each age groups, the teams will be named Team Red, Team Black and Team White, with Team Red being the strongest group of players. Movement of players from one team to another may occur throughout the summer. The intent of player movement is to provide individuals with the best opportunity to develop their confidence and their soccer skills.
Soccer Nova Scotia will not be coordinating the U12 Prospects division this summer, but clubs will continue to work with players at this level. For working purposes, Dunbrack will call this the U12 invited team for the time being. Tech staff and coaches will monitor players throughout the summer, and individuals may be moved from one team to another to allow them an opportunity to be challenged and fully develop as a player.
